When anybody asks me when did i start writing songs the answer is simple, from the very start from a child as ideas were fermenting Until about the age of nine when i could actually put the words and music together. The art of songwriting is strictly genetic and you cannot learn to sing and write songs as you have to have the skill and the means to be able to do it without thinking about it within Yourself so without the musical gene in your genetic code it is almost impossible to achieve.....................................................................

I came into music fairly late for a number of reasons primarily because i married young and had kids so music had to be put on the Back burner while i provided for a young family which was my main priority. My break came when i joined "SCARAB" in the 80's who Were a local Rock Band and we played gigs and had studio time and we were a good solid band but like many we never got the break we deserved so eventually split. and i formed the band "MADRID" with the nucleous of scarab remained with other members added....
 

After various line ups i decided that to fullfill my own potential i needed to get away from just writing Rock and write in different genres To keep it interesting for me as a songwriter where i felt more at home and also having the ability to be able to record with all Instruments i could do everything myself. As the the internet and the technological age is now upon us you have to keep up to date with all things new and it is a must to have a good website and outlet for your music!.............

To date i have nine albums and a number of singles and E.P's to my credit and i have just finished my latest 36 track "Double Album" "The Best of John Harrison"  to add to my music catalogue!.....As well as writing and recording my own music, in the last few years i have moved Into the world of "Internet Radio" where i do "Unsigned/Independent" shows for a number of "Stations" giving Bands/Artists the chance to be Heard as mainstream Radio and especially the B.B.C have banned or play little "Guitar Based Music" so i do my bit to redress the balance!.....
In summing up, music is my life and without it i am like a lost soul, but as long as you have the desire and the will to succeed and to try And accomplish the goals and recognition you think you deserve then there is nobody around more dedicated to his craft than myself in trying to achieve it!........John Harrison.....
